How to Add Heading Style to WordPress Post or Page

The heading of your blog post need not be its header, but the heading of your blog can definitely be in your header. Do not be confused. The heading is nothing but the title of your blog post. It is structured with the help of heading tags such as H1, H2, H3 and H4 in HTML. The H1 Tag is the main tag and is prominently highlighted in the text. It is the same with WordPress blogs in which the H1 tag is reserved for the masthead or the header. The heading H2 is usually used in the title of the post, the sidebar and the comment title. The H3 and the subsequent tags can be used for subheads in the post.

This is how you can add heading style to WordPress post or page:

  • You need to go to the Edit post/page option and click on the Show/Hide kitchen sink button on the far right of the toolbar to exhibit the various options available for editing.
  • On the left hand side of the edit bar, you will find the paragraphs option, with a dropdown. You can click on the drop down option to select a particular heading style.
  • Select the text that you wish to modify or add a heading style to and select the click on the headings (1-6) depending upon the importance of the text. You can also use the headings to separate the content on a given page.
  • When you are done with the selection, click on publish or save option to see the results.
